Alu Tooling
In order to meet the customers’ demands in regard to the short term availability of technical parts made from original thermoplasts, a multitude of organisational and technical solutions is needed.

On the organisation side, stand-by capacities from the construction through to the production to the assembly and try-out of the pre-series tool have to be available. This requires the readiness of a company to knowingly dispense with the full use of the capacity. In recent years, as a material for producing such tools, high strength aluminium has proved itself to be the best material. One of the important advantages of aluminium – in comparison to steel – is the considerably higher heat conductivity. Precisely for experimental and pre-series tools, this has an important meaning because the heat conductivity positively influences the heating up and cooling down speed and with it the cycle time against the background of a reduced tempering. In addition, the investment in a principal form family is indispensable for this fast and demanding service. A final important point here is to emphasise the proximity of the end assembly and the injection moulding machine. The complex interaction of all these factors allows project running times today to be realised within 2 to 6 weeks as standard, from data entry through to the first embossed parts. Even the realisation of multi-component parts, gas and water injection technology (GIT/WIT) is possible without problems with this procedure.
