Vacuum casting technology

Vacuum casting is one of the most widespread processes for fast and cost effective duplication of original models. This happens with the help of a form made from silicon rubber under the use of a vacuum chamber to avoid air inclusions in the form and work piece.

The vacuum casting technology comes primarily into operation for polyurethane parts. Clear glass optic, translucent single colour parts, complex components with 2K parts – due to the very large selection and availability of a large variety property profiles of PU materials, nearly all plastic parts and components can be tested very quickly in form and function. With smaller piece numbers these materials are also for series applications an alternative to injection moulded parts.

Small to medium sized components are generated in the ‘classic’ vacuum cast. That means that here the mould as well as the polyurethane is evacuated.
